Academic position
Paolo is Assistant Professor and senior researcher at the Department of Engineering, University of Bergamo. He has been Visiting Fellow at Cranfield School of Mangament (Cranfield University) from 2009 to 2011. His main teaching subjects are Operations and Service Management. He also collaborates with MIP-the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano in the Master Executive in Industrial Maintenance Management and had teaching activities in the Master on Lean Manufacturing of the University of Trieste. Paolo is also member of AIDI, the Italian Association of Professors of Industrial Plants Design & Management.
Education and past experiences
Graduated in 1996 in Management and Production Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano with a thesis titled “Hybrid Genetic Algorithms for a Multiple-Objective Scheduling Problem” , prior to joining the University of Bergamo in 2004 he worked as an Industrial Engineer in manufacturing industry and in Engineering & Contracting sector.
His research activities mainly focus on organisation and management of After Sales Service with a specific interest in automotive and truck industry service chain configuration, organisation and performance measurement. Recently his interests have extended to servitization and Product-Service Systems. He is now involved to develop new interpretative theoretical models of product-service offerings, organisational principles and operations management in PSSs. Through his work at CELS, he is also involved in different industrial projects related to operations and industrial service management.
