“TAGGIE: identification and traceability using RFID to preserve made in Italy products” is an applied research project within the textile context. Actors involved in its development are both from academic and industrial extraction.
The RFID technology is placed on the pilot companies’ products to univocally identify their products and seamlessly trace and track them along the entire supply chain. In order to preserve the “Made in Italy” brand, the RFID technology is a useful tool to protect products from counterfeiting threats and theft. Furthermore, another goal of the project is to take out a patent (invention or utility) about the new design of the accessory which embeds the tag.
