LOG4SMEs – Improving logistics performance of SMEs in the automotive sector
The lack of comparative and systematic studies on the current logistics practices in SMEs has motivated three European research centres (from Lombardy in Italy, Baden-Württemberg in Germany and West Pannon in Hungary) to carry out the LOG4SMEs (Improving Logistics Performance of SMEs in the Automotive Sector) project. This initiative aims at enabling SMEs to benchmark their individual current logistics performance with the industry and regional average as well as with the best performer, in order to identify their current performance gaps. The project also aims at understanding whether there are regional factors which can affect the logistical performance of a firm and at identifying strategies to develop the location factors for companies in the automotive industry.
